Wingman Of The Road - Swag review

Wingman Of The Road: A Swag for Serious Riders?

There's some debate about whether swags (Aussie-style tents) are ideal for motorcycle camping. Wingman Of The Road offers two swag options, the Goose and the Toucan, specifically designed for bikers. Let's see if they live up to the hype.

Pros:

  • Quick Setup: Swags are known for their ease of use, and the Wingman options are no exception. Setting up takes minutes, perfect for weary riders after a long day on the road.

  • Durable Build: These swags are built tough, with waterproof canvas and sturdy frames. They can handle the elements and rough terrain.

  • Ideal for Most Climates: This swag has alot of ventilation, so ideal during summer months, it does get a bit cold during winter season.

Cons:

  • Limited Space: Swags are essentially glorified sleeping bags with a roof. They offer minimal living space, which can be cramped for taller riders or those who like to spread out.

  • Not very Compact: This swag is not very compact, almost impossible to take if you have pillion.

  • Price: Wingman swags are on the pricier side compared to traditional motorcycle tents and even some other swags.

Verdict:

Wingman Of The Road swags are well-made and convenient for minimalist motorcycle campers. However, the lack of space and the size of the swag when rolled up might be dealbreakers for some. Consider your camping style and needs before investing.

Alternative:

For a more spacious option, look into motorcycle-specific tents designed for solo riders. They offer a good balance of portability and comfort. Also look into hiking tents as they are an ideal alternative.
